The new Liebherr LTM1350-6.1 includes a 70m main boom
The new six axle crane has a 70 metre telescopic main boom, 10 metres longer than the unit it replaces. The Manufacturer says that the new crane also has a significantly improved load chart and claims that when fitted with its Y-boom suspension system it is the strongest six-axle crane on the market.
The cranes high capacities on long boom lengths, make it ideally suited for tower crane erecting work, while the Y-suspension, and nearly double the lift capacity in many areas of the chart, making it possible for the new crane to perform work that until now was handled by seven or eight-axle cranes. A 78 metre luffing fly jib, takes the maximum tip height up to 132 metres, 16 metres higher than the previous LTM350 and 12m higher than the Demag AC350. The LTM 1350-6.1 can self-assemble its Ysuspension without a supporting crane in the same manner as the LTM 1400-7.1.
The LTM 1350-6.1 chassis is powered by an eight- cylinder Liebherr diesel engine working through a 12-speed ZF TC-Tronic transmission with torque converter for slow speed maneuvering and start offs, while an ‘Intarder’ wear-free hydraulic brake is installed in the gearbox for constant braking. While the crane is equipped with air-operated disc brakes, that not only provide more braking power but according to Liebherr are more economical.
The cranes four rear axles are steered actively, dependent on road speed, by an electro-hydraulic system. According to Liebherr this improves maneuverability and greatly reduces tyre wear. All six axles are steered allowing crab steer mode to be selected without the need for any axle lift. Five steering programs can be selected most conveniently at a pushbutton.
A four cylinder Liebherr engine powers the superstructure via five variable axial-piston pumps, a servo control system and load sensing control. Four simultaneous working movements are possible.
The LTM 1350-6.1 features the new Liebherr LICCON2 crane control system with a higher degree of operating convenience with additional potential applications, while computing power and capacity have also been improved.
The colour data display on the Liccon2 monitor considerably enhances readability and clarity, so that warnings and crane utilisation data are even more legible.
Below the joysticks the Liccon2 is equipped with touch actuation of various working functions, including the driving and steering programmes, the axle suspension, adjustment of the work-area lights and the heating and climate controls.
The company’s recently launched Bluetooth terminal (BTT) is also included for easy crane set up, including attaching the counterweight and for self-assembly of the Y-suspension.
